Are Similiac & Enfamil really the same?

Are Similiac Advance and Enfamil Lipil really the same?

Depending on where I will be working soon, I may have to wean Gianna from BF to formula. (If I get a new job, I would not be comfortable pumping.)

Which one is better? Did anyone's little one do better with one over the other? Which one do you think is closer to breastmilk (digestion, gas etc.)?

I think every child has different reaction to the brands. I think most times it's a matter of individual preference.

We went with what the hospital uses at first (Enfamil) and Nate just spit up a lot. So then the ped. told us to use Similac. It took 2 different Similacs to find the right one.

My doctor told me they were basically the same and I told I had samples of both he told me to use them. We basically stayed with the Similiac and used the enfamil just once or twice with no problem. Sydney also had reflux and a period of time when we thought she had colix and the ped told us not to bother changing the formula because by the time she gets used to a different one she may have naturally grew out of that phase and be on another.

I had to start Lauren on Similac Advanced and we used that because that's the free samples we got from the hospial. I also got free samples in the mail of Enfamil and my pedi told us NOT to introduce a different formula just yet. Maybe around 6 months it would be fine to switch, but for now told us to keep her on the Similac Advanced because she is doing fine with it.

All I can tell you is both of them (regular formulas and soys) were not good for Katie and her issues.

BUT that being said, she couldnt handle Enfamil Nutramagen...BUT she does much better with Similac Alimentum. People say they are very similar but she reacts much better to the Similac for some reason.

Originally we had her on Similac Advanced with Iron after I couldnt BF and it was great. That's what the hospital gave us.
