Are my ribs supposed to hurt already?
I know they can hurt later when the baby is shifting things around - but I'm not even 5 wks and they're sore

Really? Why? What could it be? I'm not doubled over in pain - just sore.
Not that this is a reliable source, but I googled and seems it's normal

I would say that's way early, but you could call your Dr. just to be sure...if its really bothering you...I'm 21 weeks and never really felt my ribs beings sore, BUT everyone is different.
At my Dr's office there is a phone nurse you can call and she'll call you back w/any questions....do they have something similar like that so you can call and ask?

my personal concern is that you are only 5 weeks... Your uterus is still only stretching to make room - so sore ribs...while it MAY be normal, sounds a little odd.
Call your OB, ask to speak with an OB nurse (they should have some available) and speak to them directly.

you know I am experiencing the same thing and I am only a couple of weeks pregnant. On my right side my 2 ribs feel like they are bruised. Then I realized that it is prob the way I slept one night and the underwire in my bra prob cut into me. So I would call the doc if you want but I wouldnt stress over it.

if you're sleeping on your side now and never did before it could be because of that. i know my ribs are KILLING me now but it's a combo between the baby beating the crap out of me from the inside and me sleeping on my side every night (i'm 26 weeks though).

I am still waiting to hear back from the nurse but I don't feel as sore as I did earlier so I'm not too concerned - I'm sure it's just aches & pains that come with the territory.
