Are baby cabanas for the beach 'worth it'?
We never were brave enough to attempt the beach with DD and now we'll have an infant and 2 year old this summer. I'm hoping to attempt to go at least a few times as a family this year and I'm wondering if a baby cabana would be worth it? Could my 2 year old use it also? Am I better off with just a big umbrella? Do we need an umbrella AND cabana?

i used one last year...it was a pain to put together bc mine did not pop up by itself, but it was great for the baby to sit and play in.

I have one of those and I don't love it. I have the umbrella with the sides that come down and anchor (sportbrella, I think) and its much better. It's big and a lot more useful long term.

I got a cabana last summer bc DD was only 4 months when we were at the beach. I loved it. She napped in it, two adults could sit in it and play with her, I could lay down and nurse her without anyone knowing. It was definitely worth it for us, especially knowing I can use it for years to come.
This is the one we have. It pops up very easily and with practice is pretty easy to fold.

We got this one for a beach vacation last year when my girls were 7 months. We didn't use it that much but it was nice to have. This one opens easily. Def need two people to pack it up but it is easier than the Coleman one by brother has.

I plan on getting one of the large cabanas that an adult can fit in.
The small ones at the baby stores are like the same price. I've heard they overheat a lot and the babies don't like going in there alone.
I think the bigger one can also hold the cooler and keep it in the shade.
Not BTDT, but that is what I am planning this year.

We had something similar and these things are awful when it's windy. Make sure you put your cooler, etc. in it to hold it down, because it will just blow right away, even staked in.
