AR mommies

Ok, so what I thought was teething or gas, now I"m thinking is AR. I've been keeping close track, and it seems that Alex's screaming coincides with whenever I try to nurse her. She'll nurse for a minute, pull off, cry, latch on, nurse, pull off, cry. Then, after she eats, if I pick her up, she spits up... A LOT. It seems like she's spitting up everything I feed her. My question is, what are some home remedies for AR, before I take her to the doctor? And, could it be something I'm eating that's triggering it? The spitting/vomiting just started this past week. Can AR just start out of nowhere like that? What could cause it? Anyone know??

It could be certain foods you're eating. They say beef, chicken and cold cuts to name a few sometimes trigger it. With Joseph, when he nursed, he would arch his back alot. Does Alex do that? Initially I would just watch your diet - nothing spicy or garlicy or acidy. That's what I do....Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: AR mommies

Yup, that's what she does. And when I pick her up she starts pushing up on her legs and arching her back, and then spits up. It's gotten much worse in the last 3-4 days. I'm lame, and I usually eat the same lame things everyday (it's hard being creative with no meat and no dairy!). The only change I've made in the last week is instead of plain, broiled fish for dinner, hubby made a tomato sauce that we've been eating for the last week, and he overdid it a little on the pepper. I wonder if that's what it is???

Could be the acidity in the tomato sauce from eating it frequently. I would cut that out and see if things go back to normal. I haven't found anything to work for Miranda but I can definitely notuce flare ups and try o track what I ate.

If you used to do chocolate and juices I would think you could add those back in once her tummy settles down.

Thank goodness! I already have such a restricted diet as it is with no dairy and no meat. I only have a few guilty pleasures left and those are the main ones!
