Appraisels
Anyone have their house appraised? We just put in over 100K remodeling the entire house...had an appraisel done and all they did was take a survey of measurments. They didn't account for any of the things that were done?
So...what is supposed to happen in this process?

Rule of thumb is... if the house is under 500K then the appraisal is usually only an outside appraisal. Over 500K they will usually come inside.
The house I sold that was in diamond condition they only did an outside appraisal of  but the house I bought (everything was original 1971.. all bathrooms and kitchen with a rusty refrigerator  ) they did an inside appraisal on the property.
You really don't want a high appraisal because that = higher taxes... unless of course you are trying to sell.
