Appraisal?
We’re having our house appraised to get rid of PMI. DH thought it was a good idea to schedule this for tomorrow while we’re having heat installed in our basement and my house looks like a bomb exploded. He told me this yesterday.
What are they looking at? Do I really need to obsess over a cluttered utility room or my guest room looking like toys r us?

Appraisal?
No definitely not. They're more interested in square footage and the skeleton of the house, utilities, etc.

Messiness does not affect the assessed value of the home.
Otherwise my house would currently be assessed at negative $1 million dollars!

I used to work for an appraisal company...the clutter of your home has nothing to do with it!

I'm sure that whatever your house looks like the appraiser has seen 10x worse. Don't go crazy over clutter.
