Apple picking ? Update**

Looking for apple picking suggestions.
My DD is 4 1/2 years old.
Any suggestions?

We went to hank's pumpkintown today.
The weather was perfect. Lots of things for the kids to do. We were there for about 3 1/2 hours and probably could have stayed even longer. We did the apple picking. DD loved that. The corn mazes, tractor rides, all of
The activities. DD is 4 1/2 and it was perfect for her.
Thank you everyone for all the suggestions. We may check out another next week.

I've liked the Milk Pail but I haven't been there in the past 2 years. The last time I went we were picking apples alongside Cynthia Nixon and her family!

Re: Apple picking ?

Soons Orchard.

It's in the Hudson Valley.

They also have a hayride that goes to the actual pumpkin patch.....you pick your pumpkins off the stem.

Soons is only about 30 minutes away from Woodbury Commons too, so you could always go there afterwards and make a day of it.

thats where we go. not sure if I should say how good it is, for fear of more people coming!

really blows away any of the LI places I've seen.

I was out at Lewin farms last year b/c our little guy was only 1 and we didn't want to do the trek, and were pretty disappointed, in both what they had as far as amount and quality of apples and as far as a store

Totally beats the insanity at White Post Farms handsdown. Chat Icon

My work is sponsoring a day there and they are charging $50/pp. I think we pay that altogether when we go to Soons.

Last year, we went to Seven Ponds Orchard in Water Mill. My DS was almost 4 when we went last year and he loved it. They had great apple picking, a nice playground area, a corn maze, hay rides. Very kid-friendly! We are going back this year!

Are there restaurants nearby? This is a halfway point bet my best friend and I (well a bit more for her) and it would be great to meet up, make a day out of it, and then go to dinner. Thanks.

It's $12 per person for a bracelet. The bracelet gets you into the corn mazes, train ride, tractor ride, bicycles, tube slide, and little games.
The different playground items are free and scattered about the area.
You can purchase just a tractor ride. Not sure how much it was. A few bucks per person.
We didnt pick pumpkins, not sure of price. But it goes by weight.
The apples are $20 a bag. The bag holds approx 10 pounds. Then it is $2 per pound over that. We over filled the bag and ended up with just under 12 pounds.
We were there almost 4 hours. My 4 year old loved it.

Of course.

This is not really that rural at all.
