Honestly I'm a super paranoid mom and I'm planning to go apple picking today too and the thought never crossed my mind. I would stick to long pants and check them before you head home but that's it. Go and enjoy!

Re: Apple picking and ticks
Thanks I did put them in pants and will spray their legs with bug spray. But wondered if others agreed.

I'm very paranoid and did think about this a bit also. When we tired to go last week (long story but it didn't pan out) DD had on jeans and a sweatshirt becuase it was chilly out anyway. I would definitely do long pants/shirts (light colored if possible) and check them well afterwards. Can't hurt to tuck the pants into their socks. I'd try to keep them out of any leaf piles or brush.
