Appendictis?? anyone???
They think this may be my cause of my pain I posted about yesterday I spent most of the day at the OB getting tons of blood, cutures and an US to check on the baby. Since I'm the sole caregiver of my 2 year year old right now they ended up allowing me to come home and warning me of fever, vomitting, increase pain.. etc...
Has anyone had this surgery done with pregnant? I am scared especially since Dh won't be home for another 5 weeks.

I had it but not while pregnant. I'm sure they'll take every precaution, but there's no getting around an apendectomy if you have apendicitis.

My good friend just needed to have her appendix taken out (6months pg). As far as I know, she had an epidural for the procedure and overall it went well. Her only real complaint was that the meds that they gave her (not sure which ones) constipated her tremendously....she didnt go for about 10 days and thats what caused her the most pain.

A girl i work with just had this and she was between 20-25 weeks PG or so i think! it was an emergency appendectemy. she pulled through just fine and so did the baby. she had to take a good 3 weeks or so off from work to heal though. she is now 33 weeks and all is well!

Thanks I'm terrified since it makes you more prone to miscarry and have PTL and I have a strong history of both. If dh was home this would be so much the added single parent factor is making this very hard for accurate diagnoising as well as a possible recovery

I had it done also, but not while pregnant. If you have appendicitis, you need an appendectomy, no way around it.
The surgery wasn't so bad though standing upright hurt for awhile following. Good luck! I hope you get the care you need.

My sister had this done at Christmas her apendix burst and she was pregnant with twins! She went "full" term and had 2 healthy boys!
