Anything I can do to help with Sciatica?
I had this in the 3rd tri with my DS, but it is starting super early this time. I'm only 14w with twins and I'm limping bc my sciatic nerve in my right leg is killllllling me. What can I do?

I would get dh to massage my lower back and cheek at night. It didn't take all the pain away but it helped me relax and sleep a bit better.

I feel like these stretches really helped me with mine: cat stretch, bridge and child's pose.

I saw a fantastic chiro in Bethpage. Larain Valenti. She had a magic wand and fixed my sciatica. Loved her.
eta: Lots of ins companies will cover chiropractors, so you' re only responsible for the copay.

Re: Anything I can do to help with Sciatica?
I asked this a while back and someone posted a youtube video of stretches to do and it was fantastic. Helped right away.

Re: Anything I can do to help with Sciatica?
Thank you!!! Yesterday was rough, so I did some stretches before bed last night. It seemed to help bc it's not as bad today. I can't believe this is starting so soon... I'm kinda scared for what the second half of pregnancy will bring!

Re: Anything I can do to help with Sciatica?
Just wanted to point out htat at 18 weeks the sciatica kicked in for me so bad that I barely made it through Christmas!!! But a week and a half later it was gone, completely! I guess the baby moved. I did get it back for a couple days last week, but it was after skating on the ice, which caused the baby to probably move back. I take baths when it gets bad....

I have been stretching and sitting on a heating pad at night. I couldn't walk at all on Sunday and for most of the day yesterday but that has been helping and I was able to hobble my way into work this morning.

Re: Anything I can do to help with Sciatica?
I had the exact same thing and I went to a chiropractor that advertises on here: Dream Wellness. I went to try the Webster technique since DD was frank breech. She didn't turn but seeing the chiropractor made my sciatica disappear. I tried stretching, prenatal yoga, etc. Nothing else worked. Feel better!

you can try rolling a towel and putting it on the small of your back when you sit.(lumbar area)
