Anything I can do about this? Mail related
We have been the owners of our current house for 2 years. The previous owners son has mail sent here like weekly- gambling, credit card bills etc. and more recently some how got a traffic ticket mailed here. I’m tired of this. I always put return to sender. There’s always new mail from new companies coming here. Anything I can do?

I spoke with my mail carrier and he usually returns it for us. I've been in my house 10 years and if our regular carrier isn't on duty we still get things in the old owner's name.

I don’t mind the catalogues I get occasionally from the previous owners but his son is still using the address for new things that’s what bothers me. Like today I got a wedding invitation in his name and then a pink letter for him from geico (with past due bill on it) like... I can’t believe you still have your insurance at my addresss! ??

In a case like the Geico, I have called the place that was sending the bills and told them that the person moved or never lived here and they should try to contact them some other way to get a current address.
It's annoying as shitt

Oh and in the case of the wedding invite, I would send the response card back and write on it- "the d0uchebag doesn't live here anymore. Text him for his new address!"

Yes this! Our old mail carrier recently retired and now we've been getting stuff for the old owners of our house, they've been gone for 7 years.

I feel your pain. I get bills for two people who have never lived at my address (one from Kia and the other from Northwell Health). I have returned them to the post office (talked to a clerk) only to have the same mail redelivered the next day. I've crossed out my address and written "Return to Sender. Attempted not known." But every month I get the same bills. I've even tried looking the people up to find a forwarding address. It is so frustrating.
And don't get me started on my mail carrier who at least once a week puts my neighbor's mail in my mailbox.

I toss everything that isn't mine, unless it is something serious like a bill.
Then I open it and use the enclosed envelope, write a note that the person does not live here or is deceased.

We get a ton of stuff at our house- the prior owner left 4 years ago- I throw it all in the garbage- tax forms, checks, personal mail- I have enough on my plate I don't need to play mailman...

Pretty much what I do. If it's that important to them they would have made sure to update their address.

The first six months I did return to sender. After that it goes in the trash. The best was when our old house owners parole officer came banging at our door one night lol.

Yup. We moved almost four years ago, and still get mail literally daily addressed to the prior owner, her deceased husband, her children and their spouses. It is soooooo annoying. Catalogues are ok, I get it. But financial statements, bills, tax forms, wtf? Are they dumb or lazy, I really don't get it.
