Anyone's DH freak about having a girl?
I think my DH is really nervous about the possibility of having a girl. He'd want to send her to a convent!

My hubby said the same thing before DD was born. It was so wonderful to see his daddy instincts come through, now before we knew the sex of #2 he wanted a boy to carry his name on, but he was praying for a girl cause he knows what to do with them and got use to cleaning girl parts
Oh yeah, my daughters according to DH arent' dating until age 25 and her boyfriends will know daddy has a pistol permit and she has lots of protective uncles.

It's funny, a friend of the family has 2 girls 2 years apart and in high school and their daddy used to be a cop. He has a picture that's perm on the fridge of him with his arms around his daughters while he is holding his hunting rifles.
He also owns his own karate school and teaches there-DH got his blackbelt from him
Boys don't mess with his daughters

Mine is thrilled to be having a girl, I already know I'll be thrown by the curb while he spoils her rotten...he's very good & sensitive, he'll be perfect with her. However, he's a HS teacher, so he sees it all in terms of the the teen years, and he's TERRIFIED. Not to mention he's pretty conservative (he already wasn't thrilled that I bought a little mini-skirt type thing in size 0-3 months! But he'll get over it!!). Plus, he's really uncomfortable with changing a baby girl...we've already talked about it, it's not that he doesn't want to change diapers at all (he really is a good teamplayer), but he's worried about the 'girl parts'. He's very modest and it's really funny!!
But he'll adjust (although he almost lost it when I started busting his chops about when she'll be potty-training, how kids need you to wipe them! ) That will really send him over the edge, comfort wise!! He doesn't even want to discuss that yet!

MIne is absolutely ecstatic about the thought of having a cute little girl that is going to look just like me We don't know what we're having yet but we think its a little princess!

DH is happy and can't wait..but just last night we were watching the final episode of the Pussycat Dolls and he couldn't believe the winner was only 18!!! I told him imagine if our daughter wants to be one of THEM. And he said  I think I'm gonna have to stock up on arsenal. He's a police officer...so just imagine!! Between what he sees on TV and while he's at work ...fugghedaboutit!!!

Since DH & I started discussing TTC he has said that there will be no girls and we "will have to stick her back in there until she's done"!!
I think he'll actually have a heart attack in labor & delivery (if we're lucky enough to get there) if the GYN says "it's a girl".

Dh was totally freaked. He started looking up chastity belts online. He and his cousin (that just had a girl) were looking into convents. Thankfully, we found out it was a boy and my DH didn't have a heart attack!

DH said when you have a boy you worry about the boy. But when you have a girl you worry about ALL of the boys.
There is no question that he wants a son someday and I dont fault him for that. But I see him thinking about that fateful night of the beer induced college hook up that brought us together. He knows what guys are like and he would keep his daughter away from ALL of them.

I think a daughter would melt him.

When a good frined of mine was pg, she had to have an amnio done (b/c of her age) and when she got the call about the results, they told her it was a girl. She called her DH and he said "Oh, okay, well I have to go now" and hung up! I think he was in shock for a few months, but now their DD is 17 mos and he loves her to pieces.
I think most have the initial "shock" and freakl out, but they'll be fine!!
