Anyone Work in Health Insurance or Knowledgeable About How It Works
I currently do not have health insurance because I chose to opt out of it from work. Although it is offered it would cost me $750/month which I can not afford. DH has health insurance through his union. They have refused to cover me because my job OFFERS insurance. They basically said they would be my secondary but because it is offered I HAVE to take it before their coverage would kick in.
The insurance broker through my job said it was illegal for them to force me to take out a primary insurance. Does anyone know if this is true or what options I may have?

This is what my union said also - I'm 1199 - it really is very unfair

He also has 1199, it does seem very unfair. One of the reps asked us to write a letter explaining our financial circumstance and why we can't afford to have my own insurance and they would take that into consideration but its been months and they have not responded to the letter.
