Anyone with a ceramic sink?

We just moved into a new apartment a month ago and I have been breaking things in the sink like crazy.Chat Icon DH bought rack for the bottom but glasses and dishes still rest on the side of it. Ive never had this problem before when I had a stainless steel sink. Short of buying a new sink which we refuse since we rent, what can we do to avoid breaking things? I feel like we have been very careful but its still not good enough.

I know its old but still...years ago what did people do?

We have a ceramic sink and I can't say that I've had a problem breaking things as much as stains. When things like mugs/glasses/plates sit in the sink for a bit they leave rings/stains all that icky stuff.

I got a rack from BBB that elevates the dishes and cups from the sink itself and has helped with the stains...

Try one of those rubber sink mats for the bottom.

I feel your pain - I loved my SS sink so much more!

I would say the rubber sink covers would be best. I have a ceramic sink but I have only chipped one dish so far. I just don't like how it shows everything Chat Icon

Re: Anyone with a ceramic sink?

We have SS now but when we were renting the apartment we had ceramic and the only issue we had was breaking wine glasses. They were just too thin and didn't handle the ceramic too well. So we bought cheap plastic ones from Target =)

We just bought a regular rack for the bottom and never had a problem.

Thanks ladies.

Its pretty much wine glasses and other thin fragile glasses. I think I am going to get the rubber thing for the bottom.
