anyone who has adopted from a rescue...
We are in the process of adopting an older shih-tzu from a rescue and we are scheduled for a home visit from the rescue organization tomorrow.
My question is anyone who has had experience with this, what does the home visit entail?? My experience my whole life was with adopting from local shelters and never had a home visit so I have no idea what to expect..thank so much in advance....

I would definitely make sure all of the cords to your electrics are inaccessible. Also if there is a fence, make sure it locks properly. Be prepared to show them an area that your dog will sleep, eat, etc. I think overall they look to make sure the environment is safe and that you have a home that is suitable for the kind of dog you are interested in adopting.
Good luck!

I adopted two dogs from a rescue....the same rescue actually. Both times they told me I could be subject to a home visit, but they never did it.

Our "home visit" actually consisted of them bringing us Maddie!! But I would assume they just want to ensure you yard is fenced (if they require it), etc.
Little Shelter never did one ...
