Anyone using TUMS?
So my coworkers who have had children in the last 3 years said they popped TUMS all the time when they were pregnant. I am trying to keep things as natural as possible but when heartburn creeps up in the car or something I have on occasion taken one tablet. The whole pregnancy I have probably had 7-10 tablets.....but I was just reading that it is not really considered the best idea. Anyone else use TUMS?

Re: Anyone using TUMS?
I take it when I have heartburn as well. One or two usually does the trick and my doctor said they were fine to take. She actually said they are also good for calcium.

Anyone using TUMS?
I had really bad heartburn starting at 9 weeks. I took tums and they didn't really help that much...so I went to using Prilosec and Zantac.

Tums are completely safe during pregnancy - plus the give you an extra boost of calcium. Not sure where you read that it's not the best idea, but that's false information. It's better to take an antacid than to burn a hole in your esophagus!

Re: Anyone using TUMS?
I ate tums by the handful in the final weeks. I wouldn't have slept at all without them. Tums are fine!! I preferred the berry assortment.

I take them. Some days I don't need any, other days up to 6.... Dr. said they are perfectly safe.

You mean there are women who AREN'T taking Tums?? Lol
I keep a bottle on the nightstand, travel rolls in my purse, a bottle in my office, and an emergency bag in the car. I never experienced heartburn before I was pregnant, and am hoping never to experience it after.
