Anyone use Waldbaums delivery?
My newborn is 2 weeks old, I have an active 2.5 year old and I just realized I reeeaally need to go food shopping. I had been considering the idea of ordering my groceries online but I don't know anyone who does this. I've always shopped at Waldbaums and I've seen on their site that they deliver too. I've heard of Peapod but again, don't have any references.
Since I'm more familiar with Waldbaums, has anyone used their delivery service?
And my real concern is in ordering fresh fruits, veggies, meats and fish. Could I trust either company with sending me good quality fresh food and not having to worry about them wastiing my money with rotten or spoiled food?
Thanks for your help!!
ETA: I'm in East Meadow if that makes a difference....

Anyone use Waldbaums delivery?
I have used Peapod without much of an issue. I did find the meat to be gross most of the time though. I don't shop at Waldbaum's, so I can't help you there. The store near me is dirty. Shoprite has a service but you have to pick up (they will load your car, you don't even have to get out). I prefer them over Peapod.

I don't know about your location and don't know about waldbaums delivery. Pea pod is a life saver when you are stuck. I am a single full time working mom with a busy schedule and I use it when needed. No the selection and produce is not perfect or hand picked by you but sometimes you can't be so picky!!

Re: Anyone use Waldbaums delivery?
I do Peapod all the time. I did Waldbaums once, it was fine but Peapod gives more discounts.
If you're a new customer you can use the code "truck" at Peapod for $15 off your first order.

Re: Anyone use Waldbaums delivery?
I have a walbaums near me and I do shop there but only out of necessity ...I use peapod for times that I cannot or do not want to go to the store - for example they are coming today as I am not feeling well and dont want to have to go to the store.
If they delivered to my zip code year round I would use fresh direct as they sell a lot of high quality food and a lot of organic.
Try peapod and search for a new customer coupon and that will give you $15 off. The way I look at it even if I do not order everything from them such as meat etc its so much easier to run to the store for a couple of items than having to do a full shop up.
Congrats on your new baby

Re: Anyone use Waldbaums delivery?
Years ago we used Waldbaums, I think it's called farm fresh. I loved it. We had the same guy come every week and our food was always on par. We ended up stopping because we used a lot of coupons and they would apply coupons to the next order, however after some time they were so backed up we wouldn't see our coupon refund for weeks which killed doing coupons in the first place.
congrats on baby.

I use peapod, but I agree with a PP that a lot of times the meat and even produce is not very good.
I've heard a lot of good things about shoprite so I'm going to try them out soon.
Can't help you with Waldbaums though. I don't shop there.

Re: Anyone use Waldbaums delivery?
I didn't know they even delivered! I've used Pea Pod & local butcher deliveries.
I've found that Pea Pod's greens are very fresh.

Re: Anyone use Waldbaums delivery?
I did once. The delivery was super late and they sent me some hybrid apple juice. But I would use them again because Peapod never has anything I need.
Some Waldbaum's also has a shopping service where they bring it out to your car.

Re: Anyone use Waldbaums delivery?
ve used peapod a lot and all of their fruit and veggies are always super fresh - part of the reason i like using them is bc they chose fresher fruit and veggies than i would be able to pick haha but sometimes they dont have things that i want ..

Re: Anyone use Waldbaums delivery?
I am in North Bellmore and LOVE Peapod. I have a 3 month old and a 3yr old, and it has made my life so much easier. My 60-day free delivery trial just ended. I had a deal for $15 off my first order, then free shipping for 60 days. There are also ways to get $$ off your order- you can get $5-6 off for Wednesday delivery, and there are other times you can get a discount as well. I have had NO problem with meat, and the produce is nicer than I have found in the store. It is true that they don't always have everything, but the site is very easy to shop from, and they even offer substitutions if you want them to send you a similar item if they are out of something you ordered. I feel like a Peapod pro at this point, so please FM if you have any specific questions! I may even have a discount code for you if you are interested.
