Anyone use "Scotts" for their grass/lawn service?

I think we will go with them for our grass, trees and shrubs service but wanted to hear any opinions on them....they are no cheap so before we sign a contract wanted to find out.

Are they worth their money?

TIA!

Re: Anyone use "Scotts" for their grass/lawn service?

My IL's were using them and while their lawn did look pretty good, Scott's had a habit of giving them no time to prepare for them coming. They would call the day before and say "We're coming tomorrow, make sure the lawn is cut." Sometimes that's just not possible espcially if you're working. When my IL's inquired about that, Scott's told them there was nothing they ould do, it's whenever it comes up in the computer.

Plus, my IL's always had these mushrooms growing on their lawn and Scott's couldn't get rid of them. I kept telling them they were overwatering the lawn, while Scott's kept telling them to water more - so who knows!

Thanks for the input....

Our contract has the dates of their visits so we will have the lawn cut before they come in....

we will be using them too. I just received my contract in the mail, but am concerned b/c there is no indication of thatch removal or spring seeding. I have to call them to make sure that this is included b/c I don't want to have to do any of that stuff.

My mom is haveing true green come. Scotts was supposed to come the other day to give an estimate and they never came. She never called them because she just figured they lost her business. They showed up today. Mind you her lawn is not bad. It just needs to be treated and Scotts said we can't help you. Correct me if i am wrong but they are a lawn service, shouldn't they be able to help the lawn? True green Is going to do the lawn for her.
