My OB says that it's fine, but like you, I've been hesitant to take it. I have taken it before going to my ILs, b/c I'm allergic to their cats, and also when seasonal allergies are really bothering me. I've taken Singulair as well. If you're really suffering, I think you should try it.

Re: anyone take zyrtec?
I was hesitant but honestly I checked with my RE, the IVF nurses and an IVF friend who took it- it's safe. It totally is fine, but I'd suggest Claritin if you feel like Zyrtec is "too new".
I blow my nose every minute of the day, my allergies are so bad. I only have taken it 3x since I'm pregnant, which is 7 weeks. I've also needed my rescue inhaler once, too. My RE ORDERED me to take my inhaler. "If mommy can't breathe, baby can't breathe"

Re: anyone take zyrtec?
I have terrible seasonal allergies so as soon as the doc told me I could take it, I've been taking zyrtec daily for the last 3 weeks! Otherwise I'd be suffering with headaches and itchy eyes and such. The doctor did say not to take any with a decongestant, so no zyrtec-D.

Re: anyone take zyrtec?
I try my best not to take to much during pregnancy ~ I was at my ob last week and when I came in my dr said I looked terrible and suggested I take Zyrtec ~ I was sooo upset I did not want to take it but my dr said I shouldn't suffer too ~ so I took it a couple of nights ~ It helped but it makes me drowsy and the drowsiness lasts until the next morning! So I only took a couple of times on the bad nights.

Re: anyone take zyrtec?
I took it my whole pregnancy. OB said it was fine- that and Claritin. I even took it in my first trimester with his blessing.
