Anyone take the LIE into the city today? Traffic?

I have to be in the city for a medical procedure by 10 tomorrow morning. With all the Throggs Neck stuff going on, I was wondering what the traffic on the LIE was like. I don't want to pay $250 to stay in a hotel tonight if we don't have to. We were thinking of leaving before 7 just to give us enough time.

I drove to the Throgs Neck bridge this morning via the LIE. Left from exit 52 at 8am. Salied along fine in the HOV lane until the HOV lane ended. Heavy traffic, but totally moving from the end of the HOV to the Clearview. Took about 40 minutes to get to the bridge.

Had I not been in the HOV lane, it would have taken much longer.

I took the LIE to the Throgsneck this morning from exit 61. I left at 4:30 this morning...no traffic

I'm sure if you left a 7, you should make it there by 10 Good luck

If you leave before 7, you should be fine... I live in queens off the LIE around exit 23... traffic gets bad around there, but nothing terrible before 7...

Thanks. I figure the usual spots will be bad and the exit for the cross island will be extra bad. HOV here we come!

we went yesterday to take kenneth to new jersey for treatment. my parents are going again tomorrow. we took the HOV lane which helped and it was smooth all the way through nassau -- it got heavy when we hit queens (right around queens college) and then continued until right before the midtown tunnel. then, it was fine and the city was good too. you should be OK. you are giving yourself enough time which helps.
