Anyone start on milk earlier than 1 year?

DH and I were discussing the high cost of formula and he suggested we go to 1/2 formula and 1/2 milk in a bottle.

Any tips or advice from BTDT?

We transitioned them to milk at 11 months. We started by just replacing an ounce in each bottle with milk, then gradually worked it up to the whole bottle being milk over the course of 2 weeks. No problems over here.

I did it at 9 1/2 months. Our ped starts at 10 months and I ran out of formula at 9 1/2 so we did it then. I started with 1 ounce of milk in 3 ounces of formula. Then later that day did 2 and 2. Then that night did all milk!

Beware of poop changes. It turned soft and orange like for a little while.

Per our pediatrician's instructions, we started the transition around 10 1/2 months. Since he turned 11 months, Nikolas has been solely on milk..

He adjusted really well to it.. but as Kitkat said, beware of some strange looking poops for awhile

edited to add : we didn't really have any system to introducing milk. We just started by making his bottles half milk/half formula for a few days..after that we eliminated the formula from one of his 3 bottles a day (so 2 bottles were 1/2 milk-1/2 formula and one was all milk, and so on, until they all were milk bottles).

DS has been on regular milk since he was 11 months old. He took to it right away. I just stopped the formula and gave him reg. milk.

I started giving him milk at 10 months. He still gets formula, but i wanted to get him used to the taste. He loves it!

Once these cans of formula are gone, no more.

He'll be 11 months.

we started weaning Alyssa at 10.5 mths and she was completely on milk by 1 yr. old.

nope, i believe i waited til my ped said to start whole milk.. i figured there was a reason the ped suggested waiting til a certain age.. and i didnt want to mess with it. but to each his own.

I started around 10 months I started out with 1oz of whole milk to 7oz of formula. Each week I increased the whole milk and decreased the formula. I think by 11.5 months he was on full whole milk.

nope, i believe i waited til my ped said to start whole milk.. i figured there was a reason the ped suggested waiting til a certain age.. and i didnt want to mess with it. but to each his own.
