anyone ship frozen breast milk? - HELP!
I have a convention in CA in mid Jan and my DH will have my DS here in NY. Kills me to pump and dump. Anyone ever ship their breast milk? How did you go it? i can't find anything on the Fed Ex site!

You could probably pack it in dry ice and send it.

yes! i sent a bunch of bags of frozen milk from north carolina to my mom's house in new york.
i got the dry ice and a small styrofoam cooler at the supermarket. i put the bags in there and packed the cooler with newspaper.
you can send the stuff via fed ex, but not all fed ex locations will do dry ice, so you'll have to find one that will.
a word of caution - i would use the bags that you ship fairly soon after shipping, because i think that the plastic degrades over time when it has been exposed to the extreme cold. the bags that i used immediately after shipping gave me no problem, but i recently was back in NY and went to use the remaining two bags, and they both got holes in them as i tried to heat them
