anyone restore old furniture?
I have an old dresser or solid wood that I have had since a kid. But over the years stupid us painted it white to match my wood. Now I want to take off the paint and restain it back to wood.
Anyone use liquid paint remover? Suggestions

DH and I are in the process of restoring my great grandfathers dining room chairs. If there is any kind of coating on top of the paint, you'll have to remove that. Then sand away the paint with an electric sander. cover it with wood conditioner and then restain it.

You can use paint stripper too. It should be OK. before your refinish is it worthit? By this I mean are you sure it's solid wood and not veneer. Take a drawer out and look at the back on the side-is it held together only with wood (one piece fits into the other piece?
