Did they make you keep the baby in the room overnight or were you allowed to send the baby to the nursery?

I had DS via c-section 2 years ago and I had the option of sending him to the nursery overnight and just brought in to be nursed. I am hoping that I can still do this b/c I remember not being able to get out of bed without help.

I've been hearing that more hospitals are really into the "rooming in" policy.

I had mine 8 weeks ago. It is optional. My husband stayed with me the whole time so I kept the baby with me the 1st night but, wrong decision- I got no sleep. So since I am BF they kept him in the nursery til he had to feed. Mind you I cried not having him with me.
