Anyone on "modified" rest?
I just got back from the Dr because I was having some spotting (yet again) this morning. He says that my placenta is a low lying and that is causing the spotting. He doesn't want me to lift anything heavy, no strenuous activity, no s-e-x, no exercise. He says he's not a big believer in telling people to lay flat on their backs for this, but that I need to rest. Ughhhhhhhhhh!
I'll be 13 weeks on Saturday.

I was on it around the same time for the same reason - I was only on it for 3 days though (I was on vacation and went to the ER).
It was quite difficult but, the spotting stopped and since then, my placenta has moved and is not considered low lying anymore.

Re: Anyone on "modified" rest?
My doc told me that as well when i was in the first-begining of 2nd trimester bc my cervix was measuring "short," and I had a small blood filled clot-like bubble next to my uterus. I still did normal activities and continued to work full time, i just tried to lay down whnever I could. Next time I saw him my cervis was measuring fine and the clot-like bubble was getting smaller and smaller and eventually dissapeared.

Re: Anyone on "modified" rest?
I'm not sure what I"m doing is considered modified rest but at around 28/29 weeks my doctor basically said he would like to see me 'take it easy' at this point of the pregnancy and suggested I stop working. My 1st DD was a preemie (born at 32 wks) and they are not sure why she came so early. Although I have been monitored more closely this time and everything looks good so far, I think we're all being a bit more cautious. So while I'm not in bed all day, I am resting whenever possible and not doing anything strenuous like lifting anything heavy (besides DD ) or exercising. While it's not ideal, anything that helps my chances of carrying this baby to term is fine by me.

Re: Anyone on "modified" rest?
I was put on modified bedrest at the end of my first pregnancy at 34 weeks. I was pulled immediately from work, which was kind of stupid because at work all I do is sit.
I am sure the doctor just doesn't want you doing anything strenuous, like lifting your DD, moving furniture, etc. I hope yours ends quickly.

Re: Anyone on "modified" rest?
I was on modified rest after my 19 week sono. I was told I had Placenta Previa. My Placenta wound up moving at 25 weeks, and I was fine after that.
I had spotting in the beginning as well.
