Anyone not planning on having a big party for baptism
What are you planning...we are trying to buy a house, and hope to be closing around the time of DDs Christening, and don't know if we'll have the $$ or the time to plan a big party.
We were thinking of just taking immediate family out to dinner, but out immediate family is about 24 people...so that will still prob be expensive, right???

We're still debating between a party or just taking immediate family out to dinner afterwards. If you're buying a house, go the dinner route. Can you do it at your place to save some money?

We just had it at our home, I made 2 pasta salads and got 2 entree trays from a caterer, a few others brought something, and deserts and it was great! - I still had leftover food! I didn't want to spend a lot so we went this route and so glad I did. I liked being home esp w/the baby since i was nursing and he was so young, I felt more comfortable at home.

We're not. We're still deciding what we're going to do. Our immediate family alone is 25 people. We may just do something in DH's parents' backyard (BBQ, make salads, order a couple of heros, etc.) with extended family and that would bring it up to 65 people. Nothing huge though, we can't afford it.

We had a very simple party at our house. Kind of like a BBQ. About 25 people....mostly immediate family. It was perfect!

we're planning to keep it small and only invite immediate family. the list would be around 20ppl (maybe a little less) and i think we'll just go out to dinner.

We did a lunch at a restaurant with immediate family and close friends. We had about 30 people. I did not have music. I did not have favors. It was just a simple lunch to thank everyone for coming to celebrate this special day with us.
(our house is to small or I would've had it there)

We are undecided right now. It's going to be hard because I will still be on maternity leave and we aren't going to have my full salary so it's a really tough decision. If we do a smaller party, we will probably do dinner with just immediate family (which is big) and very close friends.
