anyone live in Houston?
We are going this weekend for a wedding-- and are looking for something to do Saturday during the day. Any thoughts?

ive been there a ton of times for work
you need a day to get through the galleria mall- awesome high end mall
lots of shopping, spas and restuarants
tons of golf
where are you staying? the galleria mall in in an area called "the galleria" i suggest you stay around there to be close to the shopping
also i heard the space center is really cool as well

i've been there also and i second the galleria mall. you could definitely kill a day there, as long as you don't mind being indoors

I've been there a bunch of times with DH for work.
yep, Galleria if DH doesn't mind shopping
There is a ton of museums, I think its the Natural Science one that is good. The space center is there. If there is a rodeo going on, thats worth seeing too.
TX drivers are the worst and their roads are a nightmare!!! They all loop and merge every which way.

oh, and Moody Gardens, thats in Galveston but sometimes they have good exhibits that are worth the trip. There's also a winery in Galveston (yeah, i didn't know they had vineyards down their either).

thanks-- we'll be in downtown Houston, stayign at the Lancaster.
We'll just need to kill the day on Saturday-- unless the weather is nice-- I am content to sit outside.

my brother lives in Houston, but houston is very very big... he lives 35 minutes out of downtown and it is the suburbs like Long Island. and if you are in downtown, check out all of the museums.. They are supposed to be wonderful..
If you have a car go to the Galleria mall, enormous high end shops there.
There is a steakhouse called -- The Tast of Texas, The best steakhouse we have eaten at and I have been to my share of them...
You have plenty resturants to choose from , Houston is known for their food.
