Anyone know anything about an inground pool?
I have an inground pool and we don't have a mesh cover - we have the old type that you weigh down with water bags (I know I know time to upgrade)...
anyway it seems that one side of the cover may have blown into the pool. I can't tell if it's in the pool or the water bags fell in and broke. There is definitely water pooling on top (well now ice). The way the wind was blowing one side of the pool is covered with 20 inches and the the otherside I can see parts of the ground. I still see some cover so I'm wondering if just that the bags fell in and broke.
Anyway what do I do? Is this going to ruin my pool? I want to kill my DH for cheaping out on the cover

I would try to get the cover back on properly but I dont think that is going to be very easy because of all the snow. You will need a cover pump to pump all the water off the top of the cover from melting snow otherwise more of the cover may fall in.

i don't think its possible right now with all the snow that's on it. I would do it if I could, that's why I was asking if its going to do alot of damage.
I called my "pool guy" but he never returns my calls once the season the is over

Re: Anyone know anything about an inground pool?
don't worry it won't ruin the pool
do you have a pump on the cover - if no - then get one especially one rated for freezing weather - if you do have it - see if you can find it- you don't want it to drain the pool
if the cover fell in leave it to all the snow melts - then see if you can pull the cover up - the worst it is going to do is make the pool dirty - - that type of cover can also be tied to the fence to hold it in place

Re: Anyone know anything about an inground pool?
That happened to us last year with the snow. The water bags stayed up but the cover ended up half in the pool. Once everything melted my DH got it out. Needless to say this summer we spent the money on a solid llop-lock type of cover.
