Anyone having #2 and putting both kids in the same room?

DH says he feels bad putting both kids in the same room since the room is kinda small (and one is a boy and the other a girl). DS is only going to turning 2 a week after DD is born. I don't think it's a huge deal.

We have a cape with our 2 bedroom upstairs and then 2 bedrooms downstairs that we have made into an office and a playroom. DH wants to take away the playroom and have us move down there and give the kids the 2 rooms upstairs. I don't really want to do this. What do you think?

We're having our first but I completely understand where you're coming from. I would much rather be on the same floor with my kids, even if that means they have to share a smaller room for the time being. Will you keep the baby in your room for the time being, so ds doesn't wake up during the night with the baby?

This is what we are doing. We have 2 bedrooms upstairs and made the downstairs one a playroom. I don't want one up and one down and the room downstairs would be to small for us, so they will share. Also will have one of each. We bought a bassinet for this time around, so DS will stay in our room until he is hopefully sleeping through the night and then go into the crib that is in both their rooms. They won't care, so I am not worried and it won't be forever!!

Yes, we will be doing the same thing we did with our first. He slept in a cradle in our room until he was 5 mo.

Re: Anyone having #2 and putting both kids in the same room?

We have a cape as well with one bedroom downstairs and 2 bedrooms upstairs. My SIL is temporarliy staying with us in the bedroom downstairs and then our bedroom is upstairs. My DD just turned 3 and her bedroom has always been upstairs as well but we just re-did the room b/c I'm expecting a Chat Icon in April. We did 1/2 of the room in a girl theme & 1/2 in Boy. it works for us and the rooms are so large that there is so much space for all of the furniture for each child. The pics are in my album in case you need a better idea of what we did.. HTHChat Icon Also, we plan on having DS in our room in the bassinet for the first few months anyway..
