Anyone have trouble with eggs maturing?

So I am starting to get a little frustrated. We haven't even been able to get to the point of doing an IUI, we've hit every road block possible.

Yesterday I was going in to see how I responded to the Femara and then today would be the IUI, but unfortunately I don't have any mature eggs, not even close.

So now we are moving on to injectables. I guess my question is, does anyone else have a similar problem? Anything in particular you did to help them mature? I know everyone is different but I just looking to hear from successful stories.

Thanks!

I have that issue this month. I was on Femara and usually was good about 7-9 days later. I have to go back tomorrow to see what's going on. If nothing then I'll be doing injectables too.

Good luck, hope they start to grow!

I have had this issue, but it was honestly the luck of the draw with each cycle whether I would get a good response. The good news is that every cycle is different, so even if this round is stubborn, you might get a good response next time.

Crashing! I had this issue when before i got PG with my twins. This was the only issue we had. My eggs were not maturing. i was on Femara. The following cycle, my dr (i saw dr braverman) put me on Femara along with Gonal-F and i had 2 very mature eggs and was ready to do B2B IUI's. I got pregnant that cycle. So for me, it was the gonal-F that did it. Good luck!! Chat Icon

Yes. Just had my first round of Clomid/IUI and I was a very late responder. Only had 1 which was a 15.5 at is largest and it took to day 27 days. I ovulated and so had to do the IUI before it got bigger :( Needless to say it did not work. Spoke to my dr. and he said we are going to do the same again, since every cycle is different.

Same thing happened to me. Like another poster said, I was a patient of Dr.Braverman and he started me on femara + injectables. I got pregnant my 2nd cycle with injectables and have a beautiful 5 week old son! Good Luck!!

Thanks for all the responses girls! I appreciate it.

It's just so hard sometimes, we have postponed our IUI 3 times so far, I haven't even gotten to the point where I can have an IUI so I'm starting to get discouraged, but I know I need to remain positive.

Thanks again!

Re: Anyone have trouble with eggs maturing?

if you have PCOS theres a fair chance that you may have absolutely no response to femara or clomid alone. its very very common. i only did one round of clomid where i only had one follie that never grew past 12mm before switching to femara and adding injectables in. my first injectable cycle i was such a good responder that i hyperstimulated. it's completely normal to have no response to femara and a great response on injectables. you should def motivate your RE to move on because there is def no reason at all to lose hope at this point when there is so much more that can be done!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
