Anyone have this issue with bathing suit!?

Got a new bathing suit from Old Navy - it's a cute hot pink 2 piece!
Old navy suit link

Well I wore it for the first time last week on our vacation and when I came out of the water it looked like I was sweating hawaiin punch drink. I sat on the cruise's white towel and there was an outline bright BRIGHT pink! Looked like I spilled a 20 oz bottle of hawaiin punch on the towel! Thank god it wasn't my towl or my lounge chair - lol

I thought it would stop after day one - but it did it again the 2nd day I wore it!

When I got home I washed it in a bucket and it turned the water hot pink! Thank god I didn't put it in the wash with other clothes! I did put it in a quick cycle by itself with detergent with vinegar and waiting for that to be done!

Any recommendations to stop it from bleeding hot pink!?!

I reallly like the bathing suit - but my mom and DH says I should try to return it at old navy!

What to do what to do!?!

It has never happened to me and to be honest, Old Navy's quality has gone so far downhill lately that it doesn't surprise me.
I mean, of all things, a BATHING SUIT should be color fast. It's something that you wear in the water!!

I would return it.

It's cute by the way. But their quality is awful.

Re: Anyone have this issue with bathing suit!?

I had this issue with my girls bathing suits from carters last year. After one wash all the color ran out of the bathing suits and dyed all of my other clothing pink. I called carters and they had me send them back. They sent me refund check for the amount I paid plus additional store credit.
I purchased bathing suits from carters this year and had zero issue so maybe it was just that particular suit.

You should call old navy and tell them. Hopefully they will have helpful customer service!

Good luck - don't wear a white cover up or sit on anything white before you know! Let me know if you have the same issue!

Re: Anyone have this issue with bathing suit!?

Just got off the phone with Old Navy and they offered to let me return it for full refund and offered a 10% off a future order! I am going to see if the vinegar wash help set it before I decide if I wanted to return it - because it is a shame I really like the suit! And of course that exact suit doesn't come in a different color! Grrr

I just saw that someone wrote a review on their website about the same issue - so I guess it is not just my suit alone - so ordering another one won't fix the issue!

Vinegar will set the color and def. prevent it from bleeding. Also, I always wash new things with a color catcher to prevent bleeding onto other clothes, or lighter parts of the garment.

I'd return it. I once bought an expensive/splurge striped bathing suit for my DD and at the end of the first day swimming in a pool with clorine the dark blue stripes had turned grey :(

Do you fill a sink with vinegar and water? (I SO want to make a douche joke).

I'm having that problem with an old navy pair of jeans. I know that the dark jeans can run, but I thought after a few washes it would be better. Months later and at the end of the day my hands are blue and my legs.

My cousin (who works for Old Navy) is having the same issue with her newer jeans running as a pp stated. I also agree that in the last 2 years the quality of old navy has become junk. First, the jeans became very thin and cheap. Worse now is the running of even the blue dye onto your skin months later after various washings.Very sad. I won't be shopping there anytime soon.

No just add it to the wash cycle in the machine

Anyone have this issue with bathing suit!?

Well, I finally wore the top today - and it bled everywhere!! lol. We were at a resort, and after I got out of the pool I walked my DD into the bathroom. As I am helping her onto the potty, I see I am leaking PINK everywhere, all over the floor, lol! It looked like Kool aid. It was one of those flutter bikini tops, and it just dripped all over me all day. I went in and out of the pool and ocean all day, and it never let up. We were hysterical. It's such a cute top, but I def ruined the white towels there.

Yup - that happened to me and it still happened the second and third time wearing it as well! After the vinegar bath, I will let you know if it lessened at all!

Old Navy has really gone downhill. I used to love their jeans, but now they either bleed dyes or do that weird thing where they fit when you put them on in the morning and magically growing three sizes over the course of the day. The shirts "grow" too.

They don't even sell the plus size clothes in stores anymore...it's "exclusively online," which makes no sense to me. Blah.
