Anyone have the Empire Plan through NYSHIP?
Is there a website to log in and view your claims, search for providers, etc? I just got my card in the mail today for my new job, but I can't seem to find anything online.
Also, are all prescriptions through CVS?

through that website, can you view your own personal info though? I just get directed to a page with general info. How can you view and manage your claims?

Thank you for posting this- I might be switching jobs and this would be my insurance. NONE of our doctors take it.
It's actually on my "con" list for deciding if I should stay at my current job or leave (I have amazing insurance right now).

Pick the type of employee you are- then on the next page it brings you to there is a list of options- choose mynyship-employee self service- you have to enter your civil Service ID-- if you do not have one contact the insurance company and they will give you an access code- I had this insurance for 10 years- it is wonderful- they cover a lot more than many other insurance providers-My COBRA recently ended and since I have been home full time with my dd and my DH is self employeed we switched to care connect and the plan is no where near as comprehensive- I have chronic migraines and a couple of other on going issues that require me to use my insurance A LOT.

That's good to hear, but do you have trouble finding doctors who take it?

Lucky star, I have nothing but amazing things t say about their coverage. I've gotten everything from fertility treatments to surgery and hundreds of MRI covered with no issues. Mental health, physical therapy, vision.... My current treatment is $6800.00/mo with no copayment! I even just had a nurse come to my house today. Love it.

Mail order specialty scripts are through CVS over the phone, but for regular stuff you can go to any pharmacy

We've never had an issue finding doctors who take it. Like a pp said, the coverage is great.

I never had an issue finding doctors who take the plan- I actually never had a medical doctor who did not take it- my plan also had great out of network benefits so if I wanted to see an out of network practitioner I had the option (I did this for biofeedback training). They also cover many treatments that other insurance companies either do not cover or require prior authorization for before covering.

It's an excellent insurance plan. Most doctors I have tried to see have accepted it. You can monitor your claims through United healthcare - I think it's myuhc.com

Yep, that's the site. It's great insurance and I've never had a problem getting things covered and I've never had a Dr. not take it, either.

Empire NYSHIP is like the Cadillac of insurance plans. I've never gone to a doctor that didn't accept it. Not sure if this will apply to you, but their infertility coverage is absolutely out of this world. I never thought that I would have to use it, but DD was conceived via IVF and our plan covered just about everything (including all the medicine, egg retrieval, egg transfer, storage of embryos, etc.). The only thing we had to pay OOP was office co-pays.
