Anyone have pain in their Vagina? (sorry if TMI)

I am 33 weeks, starting on Sunday I have had a bad pain/throbbing feeling on the left side of my Vagina. My OB says it is normal and that it is b/c the baby is sitting on my pelvis and to try to elevate my feet as much as I can. Sometimes it even feels like a knife is going through it....uhhhh anyone relate and if so what do you do to relieve the pain at all?

does it hurt when u pee? if so, it could be a urinary track infection

Yay I did take 2 today b/c of a headache but not b/c of that pain. I go tomorrow to the specialist who monitors my sugars so they do a sono when I am there, I will mention it to them ...I am not really worried that something is wrong w/ the baby b/c my OB made it very clear it was normal, I am more or less trying to try to figure out how to make the pain subside, LOL....if it can...I will ask tomorrow I guess..thanks!!

I know the feeling very well. That's how I know when the baby is turned head down; that's my cue!Chat Icon

Re: Anyone have pain in their Vagina? (sorry if TMI)

Sometimes my labia (sp?) is swollen. Dr says that it is normal and it has to do with the blood going to the nerves down there. Doesn't help that I am always sitting and putting pressure in that area. He says it is not uncommon and there isn't anything that can be done about it but I could try wearing a belly belt. They sell it at BRU. It's supposed to raise your belly a bit to release the pressure from your vaginal area. I haven't bought it yet because my issue hasn't been consistent but whenever I can I put my feet up and I sleep with my feet on a pillow. That has definitely helped. I also use baby wipes when using the rest room. To dry I pat myself with TP. I no longer rub that area only pat dry.

Unpleasant yet very normal. Like you are about to crack in half. Tylenol helps and rest so the baby will shift.

You never thought you get hugs for THAT, right???? I tell all my nonpreggo girls the ONE thing they don't tell you about is this pain/discomfort/swelling/soreness.

It's like a secret!!!!!!
It's common and it happens, yet no one mentions it.
