Anyone have Oxford Insurance?
I just had a few questions about things theat I was told wouldn't be covered and need some advice if anyone has had to fight for things such as a 4th sonogram or RhoGam shot. This is so frustrating. TIA

Re: Anyone have Oxford Insurance?
I have Oxford. I was told that the Rhogam shot is covered but I am still waiting for reimbursement of it. the 4 sonogram thing is news to me...I did have to have an unexpected one which would have been the 4th and got approval for it and am still supposed to have a final one in a few weeks at 36w.

Re: Anyone have Oxford Insurance?
i only know about needing authorization ahead of time for 4 or more sonograms
talk to your office -they may no bill each one -if my regualar doc does one as part of a standard office visit then it is not billed except for the 1st and that was for dating purpose and longer then a normal one
just call the secretary at your office they will request the authorization - they just usuall yhave to show a medical reason
the ones that count for me are the initial sonogram, the 12 week sono, 16 week growth (i am having twins) - my 4th will be the 20 week and i need authroization for that one and from then on - but i think they can do blanket authorization for a certain number

Re: Anyone have Oxford Insurance?
Thanks for the responses. I need an extra sono for genetic screening purposes, so hopefully it won't be a fight to get approved.

are you talking about the Rhogam shot? If yes, I got it filled at CVS and it was $171

Re: Anyone have Oxford Insurance?
Oxford will cover more than 3 sonograms IF neccessary. The OB's office just has to call it in for preapproval. I am high risk and have had 6 sono's already (at 25-1/2 weeks) and will have them bi-weekly - weekly starting at 28 weeks. It's a PITA but they do cover them.
