Anyone have Metro PCS? Looking for feedback!

My dad's girlfriend lives in Brooklyn and has Metro PCS. Down here in FL, it's quite popular and lots of coverage areas. I didn't realize that they were in NY now and a lot of other areas. It almost seems too good to be true - no contract, unlimited minutes, texting, etc - depending on your plan.
Anyone have it? How's the coverage? Again, I know it's pretty good down here in FL, but looking more so for feedback on how it is in NY and other places - no point having a cell plan that doesn't work when I'm up in NY!

Let me start by giving you my usual disclaimer:

I work for Sprint.

However, here is my unbiased feedback about Metro PCS.

At Sprint, we have lost a LOT of customers to Metro PCS since they launched in the NY/NJ area. I do understand that the plans they offer are really great as far as what you get for the money you spend.

However, I have also heard that we have been seeing a lot of customers coming back to Sprint because of them having challenges with the network coverage. I guess there are places where they used to get coverage that they don't with Metro PCS.

So, if you are interested in Metro, I would check the coverage to see if it is going to fit your needs.

It doesn't work well in my area (north shore suffolk). a friend switched back to verizon within 2 weeks.

Any more feedback. I'm curious about metro pcs also.
