anyone have advice on a child that bites ?

My son is 2years 2 months and he's a biter.
He's definately in terrible twos...


I just dont know what to do. Daycare just called and said he bit again. I feel like it's decreasing but I just want it gone. I feel like if his language was more advanced, he would bite less. It's his go to response.


I'm at such a loss with this....My daughter was the child that always got bit at DC & now i have the biter.

My DD is a biter (19 months). We've been giving her more crunchy foods and using one of those vibrating toothbrushes to give her the oral input she's looking for. They also make chew toys, for lack of a better term, to provide input. That and just consistent time outs. It hasn't gone away, but has gotten much better.

DS#2 just had a short biting phase. He was 22 months.

He started biting his older brother (4yo) because that was his only method of being effective since his older brother is bigger and stronger. Then he bit a kid at school.

For about 1 week, we talked about about not biting CONSTANTLY. We talked about how teeth are for eating. We talked about being patient. blah blah blah. This was about 3 weeks ago and DS still says, "no hitting. no biting. gentle hands." I probably said this to him about 1000x.

I have good communication with his teacher so I asked her to keep an eye out for him. We have not had another incident report since his first one.
