Anyone have a steam cleaner?

We might be at the point where it's worth it to buy one. I haven't done any research yet on prices but was wondering if anyone had some raves/info they wanted to impart.

We have 1 dog and will be getting another, and a very light gray carpet in the main living area of our house. Heavy foot traffic. You get the idea.

I could rent one for now, but honestly the carpet could probably use it 3x a year until we replace it.

Re: Anyone have a steam cleaner?

I've had this one for years: Hoover Steam Vac

It works great, is fairly inexpensive, and lasts a long time. I've probably had it close to 10 years no, I think. DS is 6.5, and I know we had it several years before we had him. I just used it the other day before a party we had. It's especially good with pets.

It doesn't take long to make up the cost of buying it. A few rentals, and you're at the same price. Plus, you can clean up just one little spot immediately, instead of renting a machine a day or more later.
