Anyone have a child with hearing issues and/or hearing aids?
My 20 month old son has had hearing issues since birth. He was recommended to have hearing aids, but we are unhappy with our current speech/hearing clinic. Can anyone recommend where they go for hearing tests and/or hearing aid help for young children? Thanks!

We have hearing issues in out family. When we were younger we went to Adelphi's speech and hearing center. Now as a adult we get our hearing aides from Amy at Advanced Hearing in Albertson. I believe she works with children as well.

Crashing....but I'm pregnant.
I have a hearing disability. I did all my speech therapy as a child at LIJ in NHP. Parents drove me there from Bay Shore three times a week. After that, we used Suffolk Hearing and Speech in East Islip.
My most current pair of hearing aids are from LIJ again.

I am hard of hearing and my first born is too. You must start now getting into early intervention! It's important to speech development and learning. My dd has been in earlynterventiom at 4 months until the age of 2.5...as well as a school for the deaf since 6 months until 5. She will be mainstreamed. Her hearing is mild rising to moderate. She wears bilateral hearing aids. We started at LIJ for audiology and aids. From there you will need an ENT. We see dr Lalwani at NYU medical. It's a lot. Please fm me if you have any questions. I have a great school recommendation for you and it's covered bythe county,if you qualify. Good luck.
