Our closing costs were ~$7700, of which $3800 were property taxes & insurance escrows that we would have been paying anyway. So actually costs were ~$4K.
We refinanced with our current lender so we saved on some fees.

Years ago, when we did it, it cost us about $8,000

I would say excluding property taxes, which are a wash, it costs around $3500-$4000.
