Anyone had/have a hard time picking a godmother or godfather for their baby? (because you weren't that close to anyone to ask...WDYD?)

Anyone had/have a hard time picking a godmother or godfather for their baby? (because you weren't that close to anyone to ask...WDYD?)
My DH and I have tons of male friends that are close with us but as far as females for godmothers we're pretty limited. I have a few in mind that I know when I ask they would be surprised but of course happy and would accept.
Did you have this problem picking your godmother or godfather for your child?

this is the reason dd is 13 months and still hasnt been baptized.... we have plenty of people to be godfather but no one for godmother. at this point, i think we are probably gonna make my mil godmother.

If you are having such a hard time chosing a godmother you can check with your church and see if they allow 1 godparent. I know my church did. HTH.

We were torn about whether to do a blessing for DD and pick godparents. We had ideas for godmothers, but none for godfathers. We were thinking about doing two godmothers. But we ended up not doing a blessing, so we didn't have to pick.

Our chuch would allow us to have either one god parent. or 2 god mothers or 2 godfathers. I would definitly ask your church. Our pastor said that's why they call them godparents and it doesn't have to be the traditional godmother and godfather.

im having a hard time because i already chose my two bff's for my first 2 dc's, and now with dc number 3 coming, my next 2 closest friends are Jewish, and after that, i would feel like im just picking people to pick them..
ugh, i dont know what im gonna do..
i may inquire about the possibility of making one of the Godmothers, the next ones Godmother as well..
