Anyone fly with a RnP sleeper or PnP?

We're taking a week long vacation soon with 6 month old DD and I'm starting to worry about where she'll sleep. I know hotels have "cribs" (which I hear are just PnP's) but I'm uneasy about using them. I'm wondering how clean they could be? Babies put their mouths on everything and the thought of her sleeping in a crib covered with other babies' drool is really skeeving me out. I know I've heard people say they bring their own sheets but what about the sides? I was thinking about wiping it down with lysol wipes but then I don't want the chemicals around it.

How ridiculous would it be to bring my own bed for her?

Re: Anyone fly with a RnP sleeper or PnP?

My DH used to be bad with using other peoples stuff. He did get better. Our first trip to Aruba DH didn't want to use the timeshare crib so we bought a cheaper PnP in our biggest luggage then stuffed the extra space with diapers, bottles, the powder formula, etc. Pretty much light stuff to fill it up and keep the weight down.
The next year he was ok with the timeshare crib and everything was fine.
I always bring Lysol wipes anyway for the phone, remote and other stuff.
Whatever you decide is fine. I am glad we got the portable PnP b.c we use it when we sleep out at friends or to keep downstairs at inlaws to keep the younger baby in

We usually use a crib from the place.

The times we've gotten them - they have been cribs as opposed to pnps.

I've brought my own sheet and wiped down the metal bars.

I used a hotel pnp and crib.

Neither one was dirty at all. I even used their sheet. Thats stuff doesn't skeeve me out.

But the pnp we used when she was just 3/4 months old. SHe didn't know any different

The crib was a big metal crib on wheels. It was fine but dd didn't like it. She woke up in the middle of the night crying and wound up sleeping with me. I had my pnp with me but figured it was eaisier to use the crib than the bring up the pnp but wound up using mine anyway.

You have to do with what you feel comfortable with. I don't think it's crazy to bring your own but it will be heavy.

I was having this same concern for a trip i am taking this weekend and based on friends BTDT recommendations bought the Kidco Peapod Tent for DD to sleep in.

Re: Anyone fly with a RnP sleeper or PnP?

We flew to Florida on Southwest when DS was 6 months old and checked our PnP in no other case but the fabric zipped cover it comes with and it was perfectly fine, both ways.

That being said, there was a lack of communication and DH's sister had rented a portacrib for us (we were staying with her). To not make waves, I sucked it up. Completely cleaned every nook and cranny of it, even though she said the company does and she did. Put my own waterproof mattress cover that I brought and sheets. DS was not really a wiggly sleeper at that time and when I checked him through the night, if he was close to the edge, I'd move him to the center.

Even still, I was glad we brought the PnP because we set it up in the livingroom so he could have a place to play while we showered or ate.

And we brought his carseat too. Did not want to trust a rent a car one. Without the base though, used the old school seatbelt method. And we lucked out on both flights to get his own seat (this was before you had to buy a seat for babies, if you do, not even sure if they passed that rule/law). Gate checked the snap n go and would have gate checked the carseat if there was not a seat available for him.
