Anyone familiar with NICE suburbs outside of Hartford, CT?
Just gathering info, anyone familiar with nice areas outside of Hartford (30-40 min outside of city) with good schools, nice homes, family friendly, etc?
We've looked into Simsbury, Avon, Canton so far. They seem to rate highly on various sites. Any others worth looking into? Thank you!!!

My daughter-in-law grew up in Rocky Hill, and her mom still lives there. Very nice area. Another good friend of my son's lives in Cromwell and grew up in Berlin. The area around UConn (Storrs) is really nice. We have friends who used to live there. That is a little further from Hartford, and a little more rural.

It's not CT but I have family that live in longmeadow MA. Their backyard is the border of Ct and ma. It's 25 mins from Hartford. It's a great area with great schools!

Anyone familiar with NICE suburbs outside of Hartford, CT?
I have family in Simsbury and West Simsbury and a good friend of mine lived in Canton.
They all have nothing but good things to say. Except it snowed a lot when my friend was in canton but that wouldn’t bother you.

Anyone familiar with NICE suburbs outside of Hartford, CT?
Durham. It is 30 minutes south of Hartford, 30 minutes north of the CT shoreline. Very good schools, rural feel, very safe and quaint New England. I also know a family who live in Haddam, and they love it as well. Both of these towns are also close to Middletown, which has lots of shopping and restaurants.

Southington! My bff lives there, and it's awesome. I think West Hartford is supposed to be nice, too.
Collinsville is nice, too.
I totally forgot about Farmington. Great schools, too!

I thought Wetherfield was really cute, but I just stopped by for ice cream on the way home form Hartford. so, that probably doesn't help, but it is really cute!

You sound like me!! I fell in love with Essex, CT when we stopped there for breakfast and a little shopping. So quaint!!! I have no idea if it's a good area to live but it was adorable!! haha

Essex is a great place to live! I lived in CT for 7 years while in, and the few years after, college. I also have family and friends in various parts of the state. Any questions, let me know!

I live outside of Hartford in a top rated school district. There are a bunch of great towns in the area. Depending on where your DH’s job will be, certain towns may not make sense due to proximity to highways, traffic, etc. Feel free to PM with any questions.

Sims bury, South Wndsor, Windsor, West Hartford is beautiful...kind of reminiscent of Garden City. I had college roommates from Suffield. It was a little rustic for my taste but seemed nice. Essex is really nice as is Branford area but that's closer to New Haven

I live outside of Hartford in a top rated school district. There are a bunch of great towns in the area. Depending on where your DH’s job will be, certain towns may not make sense due to proximity to highways, traffic, etc. Feel free to PM with any questions.
