Anyone ever try or know anyone who has tried La Mer face products?

They are a fortune but I have heard some great things about them in general. Has anyone ever tried them? Yeah - I am actually psycho enough to spend that much.Chat Icon Chat Icon

I use the creme and I love it!! I used to get dry skin in the winter with every other mosturizer, but I've never had that problem with Creme de la Mer.

It's pricey, but a little goes a long way. I think I go through 1oz every 6 months. (I buy the 1oz jars b/c they better for when I trabel. The 2oz is too big/bulky.)

What I did was order a sample jar (the Free Gift w/Purchase type) off of Ebay first to try it out before dropping $$$ money on a full size jar.

I was going to say order from e-bay the first time as well. I really wanted to like it, but it wasn't for me. It made my face too greasy. I was bummed out, I really wanted to love it.

ETA: I was talking about the cream. I do like the facial cleanser though. That I don't have any problems with and the hand lotion.

I tried it (had a relative who worked for Estee Lauder and could get it for a huge discount)... Have to say - I wasn't that impressed.

It was REALLY moisturizing, but I don't know if it really did that much else to my skin...

I don't know if it's worth all the hype.

I would definitely try ebay first.

Good luck!

I'm so glad I posted this because you have all changed my mind. I actually love the stuff that I am using (Arbonne) but you know how it is - always searching for a change and something even better. I thought whoever used it would be raving about it and none of you are! Thank you for saving me lots of money!

I worked for La Mer for awhile and I got a lot of free stuff. Honestly I was never impressed. I do like their face spray, but that's about it.

It's luxurious, but many people say it doesn't do much. Others says it cures scars and acne, though I doubt it because it's mainly for those with dry skin.

Consumer Reports rated La Mer lower that Oil of Olay Regenerist.

Re: Anyone ever try or know anyone who has tried La Mer face products?

I tried the products that were often touted as better than La Mer and they disappointed me. Either they smelled like an old lady, were too greasy and made me break out or didn't mosturize my face at all.

The trick to Creme de La Mer is to use very little. I feel sometimes people get disappointed b/c they use too much and it makes their face a greasball or they expect it to work miracles and no cream is going to do that.

I've tried lots of high end facial products (L'Occitane, La Prairie, Dr. Brandt, etc.) and this is the only one I've been happy with.

My Mom told me the same thing!

She was excited because she has been using the Oil of Olay Regenerist for awhile now.

She has also used La Mer in the past. Chat Icon

I just got an ounce in the mail.

But I'm desperate. My skin is all broken out and dry and flaky, all at once and nothing I've tried has worked.

So far, so good. In one day it got rid of a lot of the flaking that I had.

But it's a LOT thicker than I thought it would be. I feel like I have to force it on my face.

Do you rub it inbetween your fingers for a bit to soften/warm it up a bit?

Yes, but I still find it to be super-thick.

Whatever works though!!

I haven't tried it, but I believe they sell an oil-free lotion.

I used to use La Mer but I found it to be really thick and kind of difficult to smooth over my face. I used the original formula in the winter and the lighter face lotion during the summer but I didn't see any difference after a while so I stopped but it does really moisturize dry skin.
