anyone ever send a microwave out for repair?
that thing is only about 3 years old, and is a 'platinum' model with tons of functions... It was roughly $300 back then.
now, the food still rotates, the light and fan go on, but the food never gets warm It's the wierdest thing... it worked perfectly fine last night...
have any of you ever sent a microwave out for repair? or is it not worth it? I obviously don't want to spend >$200 repairing this thing. please tell me your experiences....
thanks....

I would not think it's worth it. If you are talking about shipping it somewhere, the cost of that alone would be on the high side.

Do you have a warranty? Can you look up the make & model and see if there are similar complaints? Honestly, I'd probably get a new one, but if you're really attached, and can find a reasonably priced place to repair it, go for it.
I just feel like a lot of electronics these days (DVDs, microwaves, etc.) aren't built for repairs, they're built for replacement. But I'm a cynic.
edited for spelling.

I had the same thing happen a month ago to my microwave, we called GE and they came and fixed it. It was $99 for the visit which they waive if they fix it, but the part and labor cost $200 +. it is a good microwave and an over the oven so it was cost effective for us. If your microwave just sits on a counter I would just buy another one.
