Anyone else's toddler this weird?
Cailen is obsessed - I mean... OBSESSED with Maurice Sendak's In The Night Kitchen.
He wants to read it every night. We have a Maurice Sendak DVD and he wants to watch it all the time. He will chime in at any time of day "Milk in the batter... milk in the batter - we bake cake and nothing's the matter!"
Anyone else have a kid like this???

I dont know that book, but DD certainly has her faves and even though she can't read she knows the books by heart! It's so funny to hear her "read" hop on pop!

I don't have a toddler but recently saw a taped interview with Maurice Sendak and he's hilarious. Yeah, totally OT

Oh yes! Sophia LOVES the Chica Chica Boom Boom book and walks around with it all day every day. I must read it about 5 times a day and when I'm not she's pretend reading it to her stuffed animals!!

Re: Anyone else's toddler this weird?
I don't know that book either, but get this...
the other day, ds was playing with my IPOD touch and finds a song from the show Rent called Over the Moon. He clicked on it since he recognized the words (probably from goodnight moon) anyway, there's a line in the song that says "pushed over a cliff by a suicidal mickey mouse"
WELL.....let me tell you, he LOVED the mickey mouse reference and proceeded to walk around the house for the next three, yes 3 days singing "suicidal mickey mouse" Nice.....just waiting for a call from pre-school wondering why my kid is teaching all the others the word suicidal

Re: Anyone else's toddler this weird?
Mine does this with books--they rotate. He loves one for a couple weeks then it's on to something else, which is good, we don't get soooo tired of it ourselves. Right now THE book is "Pizza at Sally's" (library book).
However, I would say mine is more obsessed with spotting weather vanes in our neighborhood. Never realized how many of them there are until now! And how varied, there is a standard rooster/eagle, but also horse, a rabbit, boat, whale, etc. DH and I often think it's a little unusual, but he's happy walking around and spotting them.
