Anyone else's toddler have an INSANE memory?

Sadie scares me sometimes. LOL. She is 18 months and has been doing this since 15 months easily, but lately it getting more and more!

She remembers songs and phrases so well and repeats them after usually one or two times hearing it.

She knows the format for Blue's Clues and Yo Gabba by heart and commonly finishes DJ Lance Rock sentences and sings the songs with blue.

Even commercials ... like the one that tell you to go to nick jr.com, she says the .COM part at the right time and then it says "you'll find these activities and more' she says the "and more" part. NUTS!

She tries to sing along with songs in the car and usually just gets the last one or two words of the chorus in but she sorts mimics the other parts.

Re: Anyone else's toddler have an INSANE memory?

Yes.
We were going dress shopping for a flower girl dress for her today. So last night, as I was putting her to bed I told her about it....and that the wedding would be right before she turns 4.
This morning...the first thing she asked me "Mommy, am I 4 yet?" All she wanted to do was go tot he wedding today.

She also got a new movie yesterday and was reciting it by the time she was ready for bed.

It's insane sometimes!

It's so funny about Gabba and Blue ...although The Fresh Beat Band has been slowly taking the lead Chat Icon Chat Icon

DD does the same thing with certain prompts in the show...Don't know about commercials because we NEVER get to see any since we watch DVR over and over and over and over againChat Icon

My DS had a risdiculous memory as well ( and scary enough still does which can be quite an issue with an almost 5 year old Chat Icon )

They are really sponges !!

OMG Eddie is like this too. We are in Smithtown but he can direct me to a ton of places in Kings Park, Commack, in Smithtown, and parts of Ronkonkoma and Bohemia, its CRAZY! Especially considering I can barely find my way out of a paper bag.

In June we took Jack to Sunken Meadow; we hadn't been there since summer 09. He asked us where all the school buses were. He remembered them from last summer.

Re: Anyone else's toddler have an INSANE memory?

YES... My 3 1/2 year old remembers things from when she was one.

She'll say something like, "Remember we went to this bagel store with your friend & I had a Cinderella book with me."

I don't know how she remembers. That was 2 years ago.

So amazing to witness! Chat Icon
One time we took a walk and there were 3 snails on someone's mailbox, weeks later we walked by that house and DS asked if the snails were still there after we walked a few feet past the mailbox. I asked him "what snails?" and he ran back to look at the mailbox.

Re: Anyone else's toddler have an INSANE memory?

We visited my Grandparents in Alabama in February of 2009...it was the first time DD had ever been there...she was about 18 months...

My grandparents keep some cookies in an old tupperware container. When we went back in May of 2009 for my Grandmother's memorial service, the FIRST THING DD did, was go to the tupperware containter and ask for a cookie.

She remembers what streets to turn on to get home, to my mom's house, to my MIL's house...

This is why I now do NOT tell her plans in advance, just in case they have to change....she will ALWAYS remember!!

Re: Anyone else's toddler have an INSANE memory?

It's crazy...DD will remember things months later...My MIL had this non working cell phone that DD was obsessed with, and would only keep it in this one bag that she had..well she stopped wearing the bag for a couple of months and then she started again, well the first thing Chels did was go "phone phone phone" the second she saw the bag...
