anyone else's dc have a cold that wont go away!!!!!!!!!!!

he has had this horrible cold since thursday 1/6 so its been 11 days already.. i took him to the ped 3x over it just to keep checking to make sure it didnt go to his lungs. they even checked for strep. they keep saying just a bad virus cold so just keep coming back if he doesnt get better but i mean this is ridiculous. he has a horrible cough and runny nose.
making him very cranky and to top that off he is teething as well..
just wondering if anyone elses dc have bad colds and if they are lasting forever as well..

YES!!!! DS got one around the same time, and he still has a faucet nose and cough. Before this he had an ear infection, and I too am worried about it going to his ears. He's been a total crankpot.

oh man i feel for u as well then.... he is runny nose all day but then it switches to congested so when he sleeps (which is horrible right now) he drools on sheets...ughhhh
but the cough is so scary to me it sounds very flemy but he obviously doesnt know how to spit it out..
all day im wiping and sucking out his nose.... i am afraid it will go to his ears to but so far it hasnt. if he isnt a little better tomorrow i might take him back to dr.

Yup. DS too!
He had a fever starting New Years Eve - got better but had a low fever for about 3 days.

Very congested and a cough. Took him to the ped 1/3 and they said virus.

He still has the occasional cough and runny nose. He is acting ok, but still...GRRRRR!!!

Agreed - spring can't get here soon enough!!

My dc has been the same way -- runny nose for almost two weeks. I took him to the ped and he said it was a sinus infection and gave me a prescription. He said with the medicine it should go away by the end of the week.

My DS has had a recurring cold since November. He has it for a week or so, it goes away for a week or so, then comes back for a wekk or so. And on, and on, and on....

my ped didnt say anything about sinus.... im guessing they dont want to put him on any meds this young(6 1/2 months) unless trully needed but i feel so bad he isnt getting better so im gonna go back to dr maybe tomorrow or wed..

Ped. told me to watch for a fever, b/c last ear infection he had a high fever (over 103). So far he's had only low-grade temp, so I think he's fighting off infection, but can't feel good.

Here's hoping spring arrives quickly!

Urgh! Know exactly how you feel! Both of my DS have had colds on and off since October! Now both DS have had colds since last week and my younger DS has a runny nose, cough and has been so cranky. I know he's teething too but I keep worrying that it has turned into an ear infection. I hate bringing him back and forth to the Dr.
Cannot wait until spring!
