anyone else's child a drama queen?
yes, that's my DS
he can bump his head SO lightly and starts crying like someone is beating him
coddling him makes him cry more, but distracting him works almost instanly, so i know he isn't really hurt.
he is going to be such a mama's boy

Yes, we have a drama KING here. It's actually hilarious!!!! He does it with some of his therapists if he does not want to work. They started to know him better so he stops after a few seconds if his whining is not acknowledged.

Samantha is 5.5 months old, and dear g-d is she a drama queen! She's so laid back 99.9% of the time that with her it's either all or nothing.
She must take after her mamma!
ETA: The director at her daycare even commented on this!

I have such a drama queen here. DD can put on quite the performance when things don't go her way.

Re: anyone else's child a drama queen?
Yup!
Jacen HATES to fall. Hates it. Even when he starts to fall and you catch him, he still cries. He didn't even hit the ground or hit anything and he STILL cries. I always tell him that he has to buck up and get a little bit tougher. Obviously soon i'll have to stop saying that to him.

Re: anyone else's child a drama queen?
TOTALLY...
It was pretty funny last night...she was going on about something and DH said, "are you going to make it?" joking around and she looked at him and said "yes" in the very sad voice.

Re: anyone else's child a drama queen?
DD is trying to, but she's slowly learning that it doesn't get her anything..... A few times, she had a drama moment outside, so she looks around (she's currently on the driveway, which she knows will hurt), then walks to the grass to have a drama fall on the ground....
Oh, that's not TOO obvious....
I also like when she's bawling her eyes out, sees we aren't reacting, then immediately stops crying.... Sometimes she'll just position herself on the floor so we can see her better. Other times, she'll give up and go play.

Re: anyone else's child a drama queen?
Not about getting hurt. He's a brute about that.
At his 1 yr visit, after he got his shot and the doctor put the bandaid on, he looked at the dr. with this angry face, ripped the bandaid off, and threw it on the ground!!
But, he is a TOTAL drama king when it comes to not getting what he wants, when he wants it. If he sees me taking waffles out of the freezer, screams the whole time it's in the toaster.
If I take away a toy, carries on incessantly!

Re: anyone else's child a drama queen?
YES! OMG, big time!
Perfect ex:
DD fell outside the other day, small scrape on knee, so I said, ok lets get a bandaid. The entire time shes bawling, whining, saying, I HAVE A BOOBOO!
We get bandaid, still crying, this is also 5 minutes later runs out to DH, Kiss my BOOBOO daddy. Me- KISS my BOOBOO!
then to my niece who is 2,
TORA - Hold me, I have a BOOBOO. (niece hugs her). DD digs her head into her shoulder, still whining, ok, now kiss my BOOBOO!

you should have seen the dr's face. It was totally not the reaction he was expecting from a baby!!
