We saw the opening, it was hilarious.
They started to give away the first award and we tuned away.

Me too! I work in theatre and we have the opportunity to go, but honestly...its more fun from my couch in pajamas with some wine. 
The Book of Mormon is amazing! I've been scaring the heck out of our cats because I keep hooting and hollering with each win!
Needless to say, DH has retreated to the basement to play guitar. This is like my Superbowl!

I'm pretty jealous that you had the opportunity to go! I like your analogy, this is like my superbowl. Did you see Book of Mormon? I have tickets in September, that was the earliest I can get tickets! The entire summer is sold out.

Yes, saw it in previews..it is well worth the wait til September! I laughed so hard that my cheeks were hurting a day later.
I've gone to the Tonys a few times but I really do prefer to watch from home. It's held on a Sunday since the theatres are dark on Mondays, but for people like me who work on the administrative aide of theatre...we still have work in the morning...and it will be a busy day - the day after the Tonys is our busiest of the year.
