anyone else on doxycycline antibiotics for you AND DH?
dr. b's office called me after my appointment on friday to send over a prescription for doxycycline hyclate antibiotics for me and DH. its 100mg twice daily for 7 days. im not really 100% sure what its for, the nurse who called said it was good for DH's sperm. im not sure why i am on it also and havent been able to find anything specific about it. im still going to take it - im sure theres a good reason, just wondering if anyone else is on something similar.
DH's morphology came back slight abnormal on his SA (24% dr. b said it shouldve been around 30%). we did a second test called a DNA defragmentation test to see if it's actually an issue or not but we wont have the results for a bit. i think the antibiotic may have something to do with that since DH needs to take it too, but im not sure. we are doing timed intercourse and i am doing femara and gonal-f this cycle to ovulate...
anyone have any experience with why we would need antibiotics?

I am doing IVF too and my husband will be taking it as well. He has no morphology issues. I think some practices prescribe it whether some male patients need it or not just to be safe and to avoid any bacteria that may be found in the sample

My DH and I had to take it before my water sonogram. Many places make you both take it when you start IVF - I think it is for infection and DH takes it so he doesn't pass anything to you. It also takes care of anything DH might have that he might not know about (I think prostatitis or something like that).

This is correct. We both took them prior to transfer

we arent doing IVF but i guess its just to ward off any other infections. 
i guess its just weird cause this is my third cycle with the RE and he only just prescribed it for this cycle. the protocol between this cycle and last cycle are almost the same except for meds dosage.
anyway thanks everyone, i guess if its standard practice i won't question it.
